Hi,

I sent this before but I think it didn't get through. If it did,
please forgive me for sending a second time ...

We have had a Datability Vista for maybe 5 years. Since we got it we
have done LAT printing from VMS and Ultrix through the Vista.

Now we want to print to the same printer from our two Alphaserver 400
4/233 machines running DUnix V3.2D-1 and V3.2G respectively. After
setting it up correctly and attempting to print, the lpc status
command shows the following message :
"waiting for lp to become ready (offline ?)"
LAT is started and the printer is on-line. In fact we can print to
the printer from our other machines while the Alpha queue remains in
this state.

The Alphas can print to a printer connected to a DECserver 100, but
not to a printer connected to the Vista.

Has anyone else tried printing via a Vista ? Did it work OK ? How
old is your Vista ? Did you do anything special to get it to work ?

thanks, Martyn (brown_at_lincoln.ac.nz)
