Original problem
Could not work out what was generating the fd failure

Dec 2 09:44:43 mymachine vmunix: fd failure: No media in drive

Thanks for all the replies which included:

Check the crons and fstab: done it , nothing there.

sysinfo or dxadvfs GUIs : very good possibility but unfortunately
I have not been able to reproduce the error , no matter
how many times I restart them or select options on them.

Use lsof: I am using it now and hopefully will catch something.

To summarize: I have no idea and it remains a mytery.

FYI: DID you know that some of the background patterns on the CDE
     screen are 3D.
I am sure you have all seen those blurry pictures where you go a
little cross eyed and it becomes 3D. Well if you look at the
background of the CDE screen , it does the same.!
I don't know how it works with a VDU screen but check it out.
Try the Water drops , Pebbles and Brick wall patterns.
Just go a little cross eyed, and enjoy the head ache.

P.S. Others have seen it. I am not tripping here.
