cdfs_mount: unknown file descriptor

I get the message

cdfs_mount: unknown file descriptor

trying to mount a CDROM (containing some MS-DOS software... it should be
an iso9660 anyway) with the command

mount -t cdfs -o noversion,rrip /dev/rz4c /cdrom

What could the problem be?

The kernel is compiled with the "options CDFS" line.
