OSF1 v3.2c "Long tcp/ip domain names"

Hi,
   I am currently trying to load Netscape mail on my alpha, but have
come across a problem when it gets the ip domain name from OSF it leaves
the last character off which screws up the host address. I also noticed
that the same thing occur when the alpha boots up and displays the ip
domain name. Does anyone know of a fix
