Fatal error: Unable to determine PC's IP address required for XDMCP

When dialling in to our server using a modem and trumpet winsock TCP/IP to
establish a SLIP connection, and then trying to run Exceed we get the
following error:

Fatal error: Unable to determine PC's IP address required for XDMCP

We dynamically allocate IP addresses for dialing in PC's.

How can we get exceed to work across this modem connection?
