Stereographics & monitor selection

I have a ZLXp-L1 graphics card and a VRC-21/HA monitor, and a set of
Stereographics "CrystalEyes" goggles.

I'd like to use this set-up in stereographics mode. I changed the
Xserver.conf file to enable the stereo extensions. The 'xstereo'
utility works as expected, causing the monitor to re-sync
the display, but the image doesn't appear to be stereo.

I think that the monitor I have isn't fast enough to really enable the
stereo extension to work correctly. The crystaleyes documentation says
the monitor must support a vertical refresh rate between 90 and 160
fields per second.

I can't find the specs for the VRC-21/HA, or a list of "compatible"
monitors. Anyone know where this information is available on-line?

Thanks,
