Hi ,
I am trying to setup a Calcomp Techjet Plotter as a network plotter.
I have installed a Calcomp 971i ethernet card into the plotter and updated the
firmware. The plotter has been sucessfully set up under Novell Netware ( so
the card seems ok).
I am trying to set it up to access it from my Alphastation 255 4/233 running
DU 3.2 D-1 Rev 42.
I have set upthe printer in the /etc/hosts as follows
192.1.1.11 techjet.coillte.ie techjet # calcomp techjet plotter
I have added an entry into /etc/hosts.equiv /etc/hosts.lpd /.rhosts
techjet.coillte.ie
I added
  arp -u techjet 00:C0:E0:00:12:15
I then telnet'd to techjet
  telnet techjet 2002
  I 192.1.1.11
  R
to set the IP address
My /etc/printcap entry is
techjetn:\
        :lp=:\
        :mx#0:\
        :rm=techjet.coillte.ie:\
        :rp=ascii:\
        :sd=/usr/spool/calcomp:\
        :sf:
I then run
# lpc
#lpc> restart all
#lpc> enable all
then
# lpr -P techjetn sample.txt
I then get the following:
# lpstat -t
System default destination: lp
Scheduler is running
Output for printer techjetn is sent to remote printer ascii on techjet.coillte.ie
techjetn:
printer is on remote host techjet.coillte.ie with name ascii
        queuing is enabled
        printing is enabled
        no entries
        no daemon present
Requests on techjetn:

Nothing appears on the plotter. Any advice would be VERY welcome.
Thanks in advance
