Thanks to Darryl Cook (pgmr_at_ppalf.appstate.edu)
About the only difference I see in yours and mine is the xf variable.
Have you tried taking it out? I dont think you need it anyway.
I'll send you mine and you can compare it. There are a few differences but
not many. I dont have the ct=tcp but i think mine worked with and without
it so I left it off. Try taking out the of and if filter and see what
happens there as well. btw: what version of os are you running?

To Jimmy Shaffer (shaffer_at_sru.edu)
This is my print cap file, I am printing to a hp lazer jet 4m+
I am running Digital Unix 3.2d-2
lp|lp0|0|HP4M|Networking:\
:af=/usr/adm/lpacct:\
:if=/usr/lbin/hplaser4psof:\
:lf=/usr/adm/lperr:\

-----------------------------------------
And few others through phone calls.
I've tried also on my side to remove either the 'of' line or the 'if' line
from the printcap file. Without the 'if' line it's working but only for
postscript files of course.
As you can see in the above printcap file, the filter used for postscript
files is hplaserof and not hplaser4psof and the two printers are declared
remote and note with ct=tcp.
So my conclusion today is that there is a problem with the printer filter
files when tcp is used as described in the 4.0a Release Notes.
