Holiday woes adding a new SCSI controller....

 Hello,

We have just purchased one of the "new" KZPDA-AA adapter boards (a
Fast Wide SCSI 2 board for a PCI slot) and a Micropolis 3391WS disk (Fast
Wide 9Gb, 3 1/2 in, single ended). We have put them on an Alpha 2100 4/200
running Digital Unix 4.0. From the Prom level, the machine recognized
both the controller and the disk. The SHOW CONFIG prom command gives
the following items related to the added stuff:

SLOT OPTION Hose 0, Bus 2, PCI
    0 Qlogic ISP1020 pkc0.7.0.2000.0 SCSI Bus ID 7
                                 dkc0.0.0.2000.0 Microp 3391WS

SLOT OPTION Hose 0, Bus 0, PCI
6 DECchip 21050-AA Bridge To Bus 2, PCI

The above appears to this novice to be correct. However, when the machine
is then booted, nothing about the new bus appears during the boot process.
Once the machine is up, I can't access the new disk (I was expecting it to
be at rz16 since that goes with dkc0....). The scu utility doesn't see the
disk, and shows no signs of seeing the controller.

I rather suspect that I need to add the new bus and controller to the
configuration file and build a new kernel. Does anyone know if this is
correct? If so, can I get the machine to "detect" the new stuff and
automatically generate the config file? Otherwise, can anyone give me a
hint as to what lines need to be manually added the configuration file?

                            Thanks & Happy Holidays,
