Length of charecters of snmptrap.

Hi my name is Parissa,
I have a question about the snmptrap distributed by CMU. I wanted
to send a trap message to hp-openview the message exceeds more
than 256 charecters in length. I was unable to do it because
the snmptrap send out a core dump. Is there anyway to exceed this
limit?
