Hello,

We've just had a bit of sour luck while installing an
Alphastation 500/333. We took the machine out of the box,
inserted the graphics card, added some memory, and fired
it up. The ARC firmware appeared to work fine. We checked
the system statistics: all the memory and devices were in
place. We then switched the firmware to SRM and cycled the
power.......and all hell broke loose.

   1) the floppy drive and network lights remain lit
   2) the keyboard lights flash every second or so while
      the machine clicks
   3) there is no input to the monitor

We removed the extra memory and the keyboard stopped
clicking (!?). The monitor remained dead.

I find this behaviour quite odd. We bought the machine as
an NT machine but planned on installing dUnix directly. I
have done this before with a 200/233 with no trouble. What
gives??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We're sorta
stuck at the moment.
