Sheila Hollenbaugh explained:
There are two queues on that printer, the raw (default) queue takes
non-text (postscript, HPLG, etc) files, and the text queue is for ascii
text. If you send ascii files to the raw queue, you get the behavior
you describe. You need to define two queues and train people to send to
the right one.

Most people wrote, that I will have to define two print queues, one for
Postscript, one for raw text:
 entries :rp=text: or :rp=raw:

One tip was:
Had the same problem. Try fs#2.
which didn't work

Bill David wrote
Here's a sample printcap we use for a lot of our JetDirect-connected
printers. The DNS name is "atlas," and we print to the remote printer
"text," which is something JetDirect cards understand.
atlas:\
        :lf=/usr/spool/lpd/atlas/lperr:\
        :lp=:\
        :rm=atlas:\
        :rp=text:\
        :sd=/usr/spool/lpd/atlas:

so I tried just one queue with the :rp=text:\ and this works for text
and Postscript at the moment.

kind regards,
