Hi,
In building some pretty large fortran archives on a DEC AXP 3000/700
(64 Mb RAM) V3.2c of DU, I get
a long list of stuff like
r - /usr/atlas/96_12/src/for/dice/pixel_address.o
r - /usr/atlas/96_12/src/for/dice/crosstalk.o
which includes all the objects supposed to go into the archive
and then
cmexec.exec: 8599 Memory fault - core dumped
s - creating symbol hash table. Wait...
/bin/ranlib: 8600 Memory fault - core dumped
There is plenty of swap space (for what that's worth):
# swapon -sSwap partition /dev/rz3b (default swap):
Allocated space: 16384 pages (128MB)
In-use space: 543 pages ( 3%)
Free space: 15841 pages ( 96%)
Swap partition /dev/rz4a:
Allocated space: 16384 pages (128MB)
In-use space: 465 pages ( 2%)
Free space: 15919 pages ( 97%)
Total swap allocation:
Allocated space: 32768 pages (256MB)
Reserved space: 1918 pages ( 5%)
In-use space: 1008 pages ( 3%)
Available space: 30850 pages ( 94%)
And I don't have any trouble with smaller archives...
Thanks for any help you can provide,
Hope you're having fun!
