IP Aliasing with different subnets

I have an Alphaserver that needs to answer two different IP addresses on
different subnets (156.111.x.x and 128.59.x.x). DEC tech support says that
they don't support it, but I've experimented with it a bit without any
problems.

What type of problems should I expect, aside from DEC not supporting the
configuration that is.

The second question is not related to DU, I'd appreciate any help/pointers
on it. Does anyone know if Ultrix 4.2 supports IP aliasing? If so, how?
The ifconfig(8) doesn't have any alias entries, and I'm not sure if I
should be fiddling with the packet filter.

Thanks in advance.
