DU 4.0b on Alphaserver 1000a

I'm converting a Alphaserver 1000a 5/300 from NT to UNIX. The system
contains a cirrus SVGA graphics chip, KZPSA-BB and a PCI ethernet card,
CD-ROM and either a RZ28 or RZ29b (rev 16). The system ran well on NT.

I have disabled the VGA setting from the ECU and set the
bus_probe_algorithm to new. I boot the 4.0b install CD and get the
following error messages after DU has booted:

No console VGA
using ???
NVRAM params invalid using driver Fast10 defaults.
.
.
.
cam_logger: cam_error packet
cam_logger: bus 0
isp_cam_bus_reset_tmo
SCSI Bus reset performed
bus0 target 4 lun 0
isp_reinit

This message repeats till I reset the system.

I have a critical oracle install/upgrade and will check the archive.
Hopefully, there is a quick fix.

Thanks in advance,
