Hello everyone!

This is an area where either nobody on the list has experience, or cares
to answer. It's probably also due to the vague nature of this question.

I was seeking an interpretation of these Kernel variables?

semmns 512
semmni 64
semmsl 128
shmmax 8388608
shmmni 128
shmseg 64

> What units is the shared memory size in?

According to DEC, the size of any of these (if not denoting an integer
number whatever i.e. shared memory segments or semaphores) is in bytes.

Absolutely... and the answer to the 2nd question is in my next summary
about the impact of IPC changes on resources and performance.

Karl
