Folks,
AS you probably just heard, I have updated to DU 4.0B. After I booted for the
first time with the new kernel I see
Apr 1 14:43:37 corvette vmunix: AdvFS I/O error:
Apr 1 14:43:37 corvette vmunix: Domain#Fileset: usr_domain#usr
Apr 1 14:43:37 corvette vmunix: Mounted on: /usr
Apr 1 14:43:37 corvette vmunix: Volume: /dev/rz9c
Apr 1 14:43:37 corvette vmunix: Tag: 0x00001e83.8003
Apr 1 14:43:37 corvette vmunix: Page: 1
Apr 1 14:43:37 corvette vmunix: Block: 492336
Apr 1 14:43:38 corvette vmunix: Block count: 16
Apr 1 14:43:38 corvette vmunix: Type of operation: Read
Apr 1 14:43:38 corvette vmunix: Error: 6
Apr 1 14:43:38 corvette vmunix: To obtain the name of the file on which
Apr 1 14:43:38 corvette vmunix: the error occurred, type the command:
Apr 1 14:43:38 corvette vmunix: /sbin/advfs/tag2name /usr/.tags/7811
and another read error on another file. The files turn out to be
/usr/shlib/libXext.so and /usr/dt/bin/dtlogin which cause the startup of
xlogin to emit a "Bus error" and dump core.
I halted and cycled power and the files seem to be ok and dtlogin came up
fine. My question:
Is this "normal" or am I about to see more hardware failures on rz9?
As usual, thanks in advance.
