My developpers are getting kernel messages telling them that some of their
programs are using unaligned access. I know it is not dangerous but that it
means BAD performance. I don't remember where I read about what is causing
this and how one can prevent this type of access. We could live with it,
but the log files produced by the programs are full of these messages.
Is there a way to prevent the appearance of these messages, or better, to
fix the problem easily ? These programs are oracle PRO*C applications. We
never had that kind of problems before with pro*c.
Any pointers to documentation/fixes would be appreciated.
