Server Hanging at Last login:

Hi All,
Our main interactive server is hanging at last login sometimes when you
telnet to it. Once it hangs for one person it happens for all and you can't
even log in on the console but users already logged in can continue to work.
We've been experimenting/troubleshooting this problem for a while now and when
we upgraded the server to D.U. 3.2f it solved it but now it's starting to
happen again about once a day. The server is a Dec 3000 500 with 128meg of
ram running oracle and has up to 175 users logged in interactively. It seems
that everything that even touches the /var/adm/wtmp file hangs and takes a
*very* long time to kill. The size of the wtmp file does not matter because
we've cat /dev/null to /var/adm/wtmp a number of times and the size remains
small. There is nothing in the uerf or the syslog files out of the ordinary
and nothing gets echoed to the console. Any Help is appreciated!
                                                        Thanks in advance!
