Hello managers,
After installing DU 4.0B, I decided to try out the
Fastrack server that comes with it. It worked fine
during evaluation, but once it was opened up to
wider access, the server started to refuse to serve
pages:
[07/Apr/1997:09:08:38] failure: file-cache-create:
Error -1 mmap()ing file /webpages/feasibility.html
(Not enough space)
[07/Apr/1997:09:08:38] warning: for host saturn
trying to GET /Picker/feasibility.html,
send-file reports: error opening buffer from
/webpages/feasibility.html (Not enough space)
The kernel is configured with all the process limits
max'ed out and a ps listing shows that these processes
are not that large (~10Mb each) and there is plenty of
virtual memory available.
cputime unlimited
filesize unlimited
datasize 1048576 kbytes
stacksize 32768 kbytes
coredumpsize 0 kbytes

A call to DEC support reveals that you need a separate
option on the support contract for support on the web
server products.
So, has anybody successfully used this server, as supplied
by DEC?
I have temporarily worked around the problem by disabling
the server cache, using a tip found in the Netscape
Technical Support website:
in obj.conf: Init fn=cache-init disable=true
Thanks,
