Shell efficiency

I've been brought up on the Korn shell & think its the greatest thing
since Velcro & sliced bread. Recently I've had to start looking at the C
shell as a new application we are implementing uses that for the set-up
scripts.

During this time I've had a couple of conversations with various people
about the efficiencies of the two shells. I had believed (encouraged by
orielly's Korn shell book) that the Korn shell was usually a more
'elegant' and efficient shell. Some of the people I've talked to doubt
that and say the opposite.

I've got no idea of how you'd go about proving the merits of shells
(apart from personal preference and the various functionality of the
individual shell) - but I was wondering what the opinions of this group
are.

I'm really only interested in the DU implementation of the shells - but
I assume that the performance is similar across platforms.

Looking forward to the usual deluge of replies :-)

TIA

Dave
