SCSI Daisy chain off of StorWks 356-SB

     Managers,
     
     I am trying to connect a SCSI 3490E IBM compatible Tape Drive off of
     the Personality Module in my Storage works BA356-SB.
     
     The shelf hooked to the fast/narrow controller that came with an ALPHA
     4100. I have tried using all three open SCSI ID's (slots), on the
     shelf, but the 4100 doesn't see it at the 3 arrow prompt.
     
     Both DEC and the Vendor say it should work.... But no luck so far.
     
     Any hints?
