Summary:

Some people said they experienced similar problems.
Some suggested that the CPU might be bad. I had DEC
replace this, but it made no difference. Eventually,
DEC said it was bad memory. HSR Sys-Admin pegged it
with this response:

> in 80-90% of the cases memory-boards are bad!

Well, there you have it. My second question was
should I care about them. The majority said that I
should, especially if there is more than one. Again,
HSR Sys-Admin pointed out that the error rate can get
very high:

> yes, as in that case the problems will later on come in the rate
> of 1 message/millisecond!

alan had useful info about uerf to get more info:

> Try the "-o full" option on uerf(8) or dia(8) on V4.0

DEC field service had me use this command to generate
a hex dump from which they were able to determine that
bank 0 on my system is flaky:

uerf -R -r 100 -Z

Both the POST and the console test revealed no errors with the
memory. memx, however, did tweak the flaky address(es) and
cause errors to show up in the log.

Thanks to you all.

Jeff
