I couldn't find anything in the archives about DU 3.2a. BTW, this is the
best list I've ever participated in -- good job people!
I need to upgrade from DU 3.2a to 3.2c, then possibly 4.0b. I hear that
4.0c is around the corner, and I know that I'll have to go to 3.2g or 4.0
before I can get to 4.0b. I need to support a new disk, which is why I need
3.2c. I'm wondering why I should bother with any of the 4.0s.
Anyway, the main thrust of my post. I'm fairly new at this, so I want to
make sure I'm not forgetting anything. If someone could shed some
experience, I'd greatly appreciate it. I have a 2100 4/275, Advfs, RAID, IP
on one 10 MB interface. Here's my strategy so far:
1. Full vdump
2. Determine operating system FW version and upgrade if needed
3. Determine console FW version and upgrade if needed
4. Determine EISA Configuration Utility Revision requirements and upgrade
if needed
5. Determine device FW version and upgrade if needed
6. Determine PCI RAID Controller Firmware requirement and upgrade if needed
7. Determine application compatibility
a. Netscape http server 1.12
b. Samba 1.9.15p8
c. Polycenter AdvFS utilities
8. Check for allowable disk space
9. Delete non-upgradeable layered products
Surely there are some gotchas.
Thanks,
Chris
