SCSI bus speed on Turbochannel machines

I have it in the back of my mind that the SCSI buses on 3000 series machines
have a hardware bit lurking in some ROM or EEPROM which indicates whether the
bus runs "fast" (10 MB/s) or "slow" (5 Mb/s). I'm sure I have at some time in
the past read about a utility for reading and perhaps setting this bit, both
for the built-in SCSI buses and for PMAZB and PMAZC TurboChannel option cards.
However I cannot for the life of me find this information now. I hope I
haven't imagined it...

I did find one discussion of bus speeds in the archives but no mention of this
specific point.

Can anybody shed any light on this? Is there such a bit which indicates or
selects the bus speed? If so, how do I check it and set it?
