bind client and primary

Hello:

this is under DU 4.0 and bind 4.9.4p1. I am a client of a nameserver for
my own domain, furph.com (machine name josephus.furph.com), but can I be a
primary for someone else's domain at the same time? this may be a dumb
question, but I can't find it in the bind operations guide.
