Can anybody explain why /sbin/grep finds text in a file that /usr/bin/grep
does not ?
See below :-

Digital UNIX V4.0B (Rev. 564); Mon Mar 17 21:45:58 GMT 1997
iss005_at_finix>which grep
/usr/bin/grep
iss005_at_finix>grep dbdev2 aaaaaaaa.cnf.saved

    [ Nothing found ]

iss005_at_finix>/sbin/grep dbdev2 aaaaaaaa.cnf.saved
dbdev2 6.1a$2
dbdev2 6.1a$2
dbdev2 6.1a$2

    [i.e. what I expected to find ]
