Our Alpha-Server 8200 has 2 ethernet ports. During the system boot,
it makes an auto-sense to find that it is a UTP port and then boots, and
all this is fine.
The problem is, immediately after boot-up, I can
telnet/rlogin/ftp/etc., from this host to other computers. But it takes
approximately 10 minutes for this system to accept the in-coming tcp/ip
connections eg., telnet/rlogin/ftp. The system just hangs for the
in-coming connections.
After 10 minutes, all is fine and there is no problem at all.
I tried '# kill -HUP <pid-of-inetd> ' but nothing helps and the
condition is the same.
This is a recently installed system, and just-now we have observed
this problem. Is it designed to work like that.? or are we having some
problem....?
It would be very helpful if someone throws some light on this
problem.
Thanks in advance
