If we shut down CA-Unicenter, we shut down the whole system! We get the
following together with other stuff in the crash-data:

panic (cpu 2): Processor Machine Check
syncing disks . . . DUMP.prom: dev SCSI 0 7 0 1 100 0 0, block 259900
   shutdown successful
CAIENF_S_0181 14:39:35.325 Enf Daemon shutdown successful
CAIENF_S_0181 14:39:38.509 Workload shutdown successful
CAIENF_S_0036 14:39:38.600 ENF shutdown successful
CPU 2 is prevented from being rebooted.
The system must be reset or power cycled to clear this state.
Machine Check Processor Fatal Abort

and we end up rebooting. The problem is easily reproducible, every time.

We do not believe this is a hardware problem, nor does DEC (and I think we
have now convinced CA of that, but they don't have I think any similar
problem in their database nor any idea at this point of what may be
occurring).

Anyone seen something similar? I will summarize.
