General opinion is that it works fine if you get version 2.01.

Ed Silver says:
ps. Enterprise 3.0 is in BETA 3, but not out for the DU yet, but it
won't be long.

I put this in the bottom of /etc/sysconfigtab on Dig Unix 4.0A
and have had not one problem:

vm:
        vm-mapentries = 20000

There is no need to rebuild the kernel, but you have to have at least
3.2G to do this; earlier versions did not have this as such an easily
configurable param. I don't know if it could be configured as part of a
kernel rebuild in 3.2F(?) and earlier versions.

When I tried running the enterprise server on 3.2D-2, it would
stop working after a few hours - visitors would get "permission denied"
or something to that effect.

We will be converting Saturday night to Enterprise. We upgraded to du 4.0
quite some time ago and struggled with Internet applications (this is at
an ISP) primarily due to C2 security. We ran into a couple problems with
Enterprise. The one that stopped us was that users pages were not accessible.
We found that the Enterprise install via IAS (Internet Alphaserver Software)
changed ownership of the web server process, and therefore privs to the
users files needed to be changed.

The permission denied can be fixed by putting:

Init fn="cache-init" disable="true"

In your obj.conf file, and than hitting apply in the administrative web
based tool. Enterprise works well on 4.0b (as well as on 3.0 and up..)

I looked into this a couple of weeks ago and it appears DU 4.0B is not
supported by Netscape Enterprise Server yet. Check out the netscape
web site, home.netscape.com, for the current supported list.
