I am attempting to setup an NIS master server and would like to build the
NIS databases. I am following instructions and executing the Makefile in
the /var/yp directory but it keeps getting script errors as follows:
./Makefile: DIR: command not found
./Makefile: YPDIR: command not found
./Makefile: YPDIR: command not found
./Makefile: YPDIR: command not found
./Makefile: YPDIR: command not found
./Makefile: all:: command not found
./Makefile: YPDBDIR: command not found
./Makefile: DOM: command not found
./Makefile: DIR: command not found
./Makefile: //passwd.time:: No such file or directory
./Makefile: syntax error near unexpected token `then'
./Makefile: ./Makefile: line 57: ` -_at_if [ -f $(DIR)/passwd ]; then \'

These errors are when I run the script with the bash shell. I get different
errors when running the script with sh, csh, ksh, tcsh.

Could someone please tell me what shell should be used for running this script.

Thank you in advance.
