Hello:

The question was can you be a bind server of a domain that your machine is
not in and have your alpha be a bind client of another server. The answer
from "BigRedDog <ckrieger_at_latrade.com>", " Mikel Stous
<stous_at_sol.cstp.umkc.edu
>", Thomas Erskine <tom_at_crc.doc.ca>

just as long as you:

1. don't point your /etc/resolv.conf to yourself
2. set your BIND_SERVERTYPE="PRIMARY" in /etc/rc.config
3. set the BIND_SERVERARGS="-b /etc/namedb/named.boot" (or whereever you
have
        your bind files
4. add the lines you need to named.boot and restart named
5. and you probably want a newer version of bind. I'm going to start
with
8.1. Has anyone else done 8.1 on DU 4.0 yet?

thanks

beckers
