Does anyone have more information about the tar patch? The following
was posted to the listserver about 3 weeks ago. Does DEC have a patch
to fix all three (pax, tar, and cpio) or are there replacement
utilities? I'm getting conflicting information from different groups.
Thanks for any info,
dave.

FYI
I just found out that the version of tar that comes with 3.2X and 4.0X
does not support files larger that 2 Gb.
If anyone out there is using tar for archive or backups of large files
(we have Oracle database files that are larger that 2 Gb) beware, your
backups may not be working.
There is a patch available. It actually replaces pax, tar and cpio.
