Problem with dtmailpr

Hello Friends,

I am using the CDE on an AlphaServer running Digital Unix 4.0B. The dtmail in
the CDE works well except that we are not able to print any messages. We have
configured a remote printer (HP LaserJet) as the default printer. We have also
changed the .dtprofile to include the LPDEST env variable.

I'm able to print from the other utilities of the CDE (Terminal, Text Editor,
etc). Seems to me that it's a problem with the 'dtmailpr', the mail message
print filter.

When logged in as super-user, i'm not able to print new messages (it shows the
filename as /tmp/mailxaaaabbc). Although, i can print the messages after saving it
into a mailbox.

When logged in as an ordinary user, i'm not able to print either way. I have
checked the file permissions and modified them too.

The print command seems to be calling 'dtmailpr' and then piping to 'dtlp', and
the 'dtmailpr' seems to be the one that's failing. I checked it out on the
command line and it works as a super-user, but not as ordinary user.

File permissions for 'dtmailpr' is

-r-xr-sr-x bin mail

Appreciate your help and thanks in advance.

Regds

Thomas
