     Folks-

Thanks to all who wrote back, including the following folks, with
prompt answers to my question about how to hook-up a VT320 to the serial
port on an Alpha 2100 Server for use as the Console.

 John Seel <johns_at_don't.spam.me.com>
 Barry Treahy <treahy_at_don't.spam.me.com>
 Dr. Tom Blinn <tpb_at_don't.spam.me.com>
 Alex Kok <c753330_at_don't.spam.me.nl>
 Paul Kitwin <PAUKIT_at_don't.spam.me.COM>
 Michel Boudinot <boudinot_at_don't.spam.me.fr>
 Edward C. Bailey <ed_at_don't.spam.me.gov>
 Robert L. McMillin <rlm_at_don't.spam.me.com>
 Tom Webster <webster_at_don't.spam.me.com>
 Leonhard Kitzmann <leonhard.kitzmann_at_don't.spam.me.de>
 Robert Schuhl <robert.schuhl_at_don't.spam.me.de>

I ended up using what materials I could find at hand and in a hurry
to solve the problem. I managed the connection from VT320 to Alpha
using: a 9-pin to 25-pin serial cable, a Dec-423 cable (?), a Null
modem connector, a Gender Changer, a Dec 25-pin to MMJ connector (?),
and a large, nasty rubber-band to hold it all together. It's not
pretty, but it works for now.

Thanks, again, to all for the help. I'll make/acquire a better
connector later.
