I just received a brand new Digital Personal Workstation
au433, out of Digital's promotional sale. However, I have
had a hard time to configure the sound card. When I ran
'isacfg', with '-dmachan0 0 -dmachan1 1' options, SRM
complained "DMA conflict". Taking out those two options,
the isacfg command was accepted. But 'iconfig' didn't
show a DMA channel for the sound card. The card did show
up as 'enabled'. Even more weird is that now I am not
allowed to delete or modify that sound card entry. SRM
said that I can "only disable/enable" it.
When I invoke "decsound", it said that no sound devices found
and asked me to check mmserver, then exited. But mmserver is
running. All the MM subsets were preloaded by Digital and
they were all fine when I checked.
After booting, /var/adm/message contains the following entries:
Jun 25 21:31:46 infinite vmunix: msb0: Warning: Sound board 0 in system
configur ation, but not present
Jun 25 21:31:46 infinite vmunix: msb0 not probed
I have experiences with 200 4/233 and 255/300. But all those
experiences didn't work on au433. Is there an EISA on au433
that I have to configure for sound card, or else?
Helps are appreciated.
