JAZ drive

I have installed a JAZ drive on an ALPHA 400/233 running DU 3.2d-1.
The SCSI ID is 5. When I do a >>>show dev the JAZ drive is listed as
DKA500. However when I boot the system only the first four scsi
devices are recognized. Is there something that I am missing?
