I hope someone has found a solution to the following problem, because
we are running out of ideas. We have a few machines running has
e-mail servers for hundreds of users. One machine is running 3.0
and the others are running 3.2c. We are running quotas on all the
machines.
Here's the problem:
- In the past we've received the "dquot: table full" message
in the messages file. After running quotacheck -v a few times
the message would go away. A more permanent solution was to
move the maxusers value in the kernel to 64. Since this time
this error has no shown up again.
- But the problem has surfaced again. This time random users
were unable to create files do to an exceed quota. But
when we checked their quota they we just fine (ie not close
to exceeding it). Various quotacheck -v reported errors but
did nothing to fix the problem. Rebooting and doing quotacheck -v
did nothing to fix the problem. Finally, we just turned quota's
off and went home for the night. When we returned and turned
quota's back on, everything worked fine.
Question:
Is there a patch that fixes this problem?
Thanks,
John DeRung
