Hello managers,

I have a pressing question that is killing me.

We have a couple of clones, running the EB164 boards that I would like to
upgrade to DU4.0b (they are currently running 4.0).

According to the DU4.0b installation manual, the EB164's require firmware
4.5 or greater. Unfortunately, this particular machine is running at 4.4.

Thus the neccessity for upgrading the firmware.

Now, our VAR has sent me two files one called 'fwupdate.exe', and the
other is 'eb165srm.rom', which he told me to place on a FAT formatted disk
and insert it into the target machine. From the SRM prompt, I'm supposed
to run 'fwupdate', which I do, and I'm supposed to "follow the links".

Anyways, I do that, and it seems pretty good. It gets to a part where I
can choose to upgrade the WinNT section or the SRM Console. When I choose
the SRM, it errors out with a "Disk Format not recognized." (I'm guessing
it can't read the FAT disk... which is in of itself odd, because if you
run 'fwupdate' WITHOUT a FAT disk inside, it will complain that it can't
locate a FAT disk at DVA0. Hmmmm. )

So my question is.. I want to upgrade the firmware of an EB164. How
exactly is this done? Do I have the right software/tools? Thanks.

PS: I did try to format the disk as a UFS partition, using the rx23
disklabel. But I could never get the floppy to mount... which is another
question for another day.

Oh yeah, the firmware is NOT on the Firmware CDs that gets shipped to us.

Thanks a bunch for any help, I will summarize.
Rob
