HELLO ALL,
I have two Alpha servers running DEC Unix 4.0, these are called lion and
cheetah.
Cheetah holds the users file space and this is NFS mounted by lion. Everything
has been fine for about 2 years now and this morning lion will not mount the
users file system from cheetah, I just get the error message
NFS Portmap: RPC: Port mapper failure - RPC: Unable to send
I have changed nothing on either systems.
/etc/fstab on lion reads
/usr/users_at_cheetah /usr/users nfs rw,bg 0 0
/etc/exports on cheetah reads
/usr/users -root=0 lion (plus other hosts)
I have tried rebooting and switching bothe systems on and off without change.
lion can ping cheetah and cheetah can ping lion
portmap, nfs, and nfsiod all appear to be running OK
Has anyon any idea what is wrong or what else I can check
Thanks in advance
