shutdown scripts not being run

DU administrators,

For some reason it appears that when we shutdown the dec alpha server we are
not executing the shutdown scripts in the /sbin/rc0.d directory. I am
running DU 4.0B on a Alpha server 1000/A. What could be the reason for this
and is there any shutdown log that records the shutdown activity such as
what scripts are run?
