I have talked to Digital a few weeks ago and there is an issue with
licensing and compatibility between truecluster versions and the other
pieces involved. Not to mention cost of the cluster networker version !

Truecluster version, oracle version, digital backup module, oracle
backup manager all must above a certain level do to problems with
recovery with past versions. I am throwing this problem out to see what
type of solutions are available.

Previous ......

Currently running Digital 4.0b with truecluster with drds for Oracle
7.3.2.3 Parallel Server.

Issue: Trying to setup a feasible backup strategy for backing up the raw
files. About 80 gig worth of drds that change nightly. Currently I am
running dd to backup raw devices on the weekend but would like to
decrease my recovery time. Any ideas on tools that would do the job ?
I do have a trial version of Legato networker but looking at the
documentation it looks like a filesystem backup tool not a raw tool.
In the future looking at 400 gig of data nightly on one truecluster so
need a solution that would be scalable.
