[Q] Disklabel weirdness.

Hi DU Admins

I have just finished installing DU 4.0B on a new AlphaStation 500/500.
While I was doing this I noticed something strange with disklabel.

At the console prompt I get:
>>> show device
   dka0.0.0.9.0 DKA0 RZ28D 0010

So then I did:

   # disklabel -z rz0
   # disklabel -rw rz0 rz28d

Then when I checked the label with 'disklabel -r rz0' I got:

# /dev/rrz0a:
type: SCSI
disk: rz28d
label:
flags:
bytes/sector: 512
sectors/track: 99
tracks/cylinder: 16
sectors/cylinder: 1376
cylinders: 2595
sectors/unit: 4110480

According to my arithmetic 99*16 comes to 1584 not 1376 and 1376*2595
does not come to 4110480 but 1584*2595 does.

When I created a ufs on one of these partitions I got:

Warning: calculated sectors per cylinder (1584) disagrees with disk
   label (1376)

So newfs agrees with my arithmetic.

I changed the disk label to read "sectors/cylinder: 1584" adjusted
the partition sizes and installed the OS. The system boots up and
everything looks okay so far.

Is there a bug in disklabel or is there something weird about this disk?

Thanks
Ian
