Hello Stephen,
If you are looking for a out of the box solution and don't mind
spending a little money, there's BGS Systems BEST1 package www.bgs.com
or Digitals DECPS. I don't know if Digital has shipped this off to CA
though.
                                        Best regards,

I did get monitor and top and randy has some utilities also.
(Randy's utilities are reachable at www http://raven.alaska.edu/randy
I believe. if that fails, send him a mail message at
sxrmh1_at_icefog.sois.alaska.edu)

This page does not seem to be accessible from the 'net

most people said you can't print the graphs but you can save the data
somehow into a file excel could use.

I did get it to generate graphs by clicking on like the place it says
"cpu" and then choosing one of the items below. Then click on the
start session and you'll get a live graph of what's occuring at that
time.
But you can't apparently save that window ...

so if your manager was sitting with you or running it himself
he/she could get that warm fuzzy feeling ...

so they need to allow us to print it. But most people said "go buy
xyz".

Hi Stephen,

you probably want to look at a tool called "collect" .
This utility will monitor (nearly) everything available
on your system(s) like processes, diskspace, I/O,
        network, IPC, LSM etc...
You can find the tool at ftp.digital.com:/pub/Digital/collect
        or ftp.digital.de:/pub/Digital/collect .
        You've to copy the COL108B.TAR and PERL503.tar files (Per/TK
is only needed if you want to use the GUI (collgui) .
If you've any questions on this tool don't hesitate to ask .

Hth,
        Jan

Monitor can handle iostat, vmstat and netstat. Using the option to
include sample records in the output it will also allow doing uptime.
Monitor offers a bunch of different output formats. The "save" option
will write a binary file which read back later. The format of the
file and extensive examples for reading are included in the
distribution.

The version of Monitor in /pub/DEC/monitor.alpha.tar.Z on the Digital
FTP server is my port of the ULTRIX original, which I also wrote. If
others have ported it to other operating systems that's great, but
mine is the original.
