Greets to everyone!
I have an AlphaServer 4100 5/466 with 4 CPUs, 512Mb RAM and 8.6Gb HD with
no RAID.
Includes all the programming language tools, including the automatic
paralelizer kap90 and kapC.
Since the usage of this machine is mostly dedicated to cientific
calculations and paralel programming, I would like to do the following:
* Know if a user is using 1 or more processors on their programs.
* Control the CPU usage of each user when they run programs, and
automatically reduce priorities, if the system load gets to high.
* Build process queues like automatica running user processes at night or
at weekend, if the are using more than x minutes of CPUs.
* Have something similar do CPU quota.
* Control the HD access of a user, to avoid large HD access that slows down
the rest of the system, warning the user and processing a log of his HD
usage (in terms of accesses)
* Produce a lot of reports on a user basis, of the total system, of each
CPU, everything that shows the machine is being well administrated and well
used by the users.
* Every kind of tools and controls to paralel computing (monitor systems,
etc...)
Well, if anybody has experience on this field or knows tools/programs that
can satisfy all this *'s, please send me an EMail.
Or even if it's impossible to do such operations and I'm being to much
ambicious, warn me...
