Thanx for all the answers I received. All of them were really
helpful, and I'm on my way now. A brief summary:

I was told that instead of using rmt0h, I should use nrmt0h, the
non-rewind device. also, if a fileset is not mounted, eg. /cdrom, it
will not be backed up. To limit problems, umount /proc and remount it
afterwards. mt -f /dev/nrmt0h fsf n will skip to the necessary
saveset on the tape, from which I then use vrestore -f /dev/nrmt0h -i
to interactively restore the data.

Only problem is to fit 6 gigs' compressed data on a 4 gig tape ;)

Rgds,

Johan Erlank
