Hello all !
i got a strange problem, and maybe someone out there has got something
like that too:

AlphaServer 1000A , DUnix 4.0b with jumbo-patch(9708) installed
DEC NSR Server 4.2C with Archive option enabled
and running the server as an archive client
NFS automount client (replaced by bsd amd)
NFS Servers Sun Enterprise 3000&4000 with
                        SunOS 5.5.1

What happens : after starting the the archive programm and selecting
the files (which are not local but nfs/amd mounted)
anything seems fine and giving the last knob to start the
archive I get the error 'getcwd failure ' in the archive
status window. At the same time I have good access to the
directory via shell kommands ls,vi ..

The error is not reproduceable, normally direcories to
be archived have a protection of 700 at it works.
If the failure occurs changing the protection of the
directory can avoid the failure. Another workaround
is : leave any protection and create a new directory
with the same protection, tar any from the original
into the new one and delete the old one and rename
the new to the original name and start archive again
and now it works fine ...

Any hints / suggestions are welcomed
Thanks !

Rainer
