Hello!
I have two Alpha's running an ancient version of OSF (2.0 rev 240 to be
precise). About once a year these guys start showing insufficent swap
messages, even though swapon -s show sufficent space. Recently one of
them started coming up with this error message :
VM_SWAP I/O error durring pagein
Now, it occurs to me that this might be swap space, but the I/O error made
it sound to a friend of mine like it was hardware related (aka disk
drive). Both machines are running named as primary and secondary Name
Servers. I do not think the named has been upgraded since the original
install.
I have 4.0C sitting here (Actually it's around here somewhere) and I plan
on upgrading. These are Alpha 3000's with 32 mb's of memory and 1gb of
disk space each. What sort of things do I need to look out for with
regard to the PAL version on these guys ?
Thanks!
Michael
