Disklabel and Iomega Jaz under DU4.0

Hello. I'm having a problem with a Jaz drive that one of the research
groups here just hooked up to a DEC Alpha 3000/400 running Digital Unix
4.0A. I.e., the drive is visible via "show device" at the ">>>" prompt,
and I can format it via the scu utility. But if I try "disklabel -rw ..."
with ANY disk type (including one which I set up specifically for the Jaz
drive), I get a complaint that the disk type is not valid.

I found a thread on this topic in the archive for this list, but the
outcome seemed to be that Digital would have a patch for this. I tried to
find patch information at Digital, but I couldn't find anything which
seemed relevant.

Can anybody point to a fix for this? Thanks.
