Help to tune memory ?

        I want to tune memory on my ALPHASERVER 1000 running DU3.2d.
There is two data-base, and i want to know how much memory use each one and
the system to better share it out.

        I try to calculate using ps but the explanation i have on %MEM, VSZ and
RSS are not clear enough for me to analyse anything.

Any assistance on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
